“We’d be happy with that, so we’ll see.”
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actress Sarah Drew has spoken about the possibility of a spin-off her character, April Kepner, and Jesse Williams’ character, Jackson Avery.
Fans last saw the couple in season 18, as they rekindled their romance after their departure in the previous season.
However, many fans are willing to continue the adventures of ‘Japril‘ (nickname the couple receives), outside of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, and Drew admitted in a recent interview that he gets asked that question a lot.
“Many people ask me about it. spin-off of ‘Japril‘, and Jesse and I have said many times how much we wish something like that would happen.,” commented the actress to Entertainment Tonight.
“We love working together. We love that relationship and any opportunity to see them on screen together again. I think a lot of people would be happy. We’d be happy with that, so we’ll see,” declared the actress.
Drew also admitted that there were no plans at the moment to bring the pair back for season 19 of ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ but did mention: “When I came back for the 400, there was almost 3 weeks left for them to start shooting. You never know! That door is always open.”
Last month, Williams himself spoke with DigitalSpy of the potential for a series about the couple, adding to the fact that it might be difficult to fit into their busy schedule of “movie star“.
“Really? Well, I think there would be a good audience for that, but who knows,” commented the actor. “Now I’m the villain of a major superhero franchise, so I don’t know if I have time in my schedule for that.”
Grey’s Anatomy returns for its 19th season on Disney+ on October 6. All seasons of the series are also available on Disney +.
