No! The next James Bond will not be a young actor

It is not yet known when the new James Bond will be chosen. But thanks to producer Michael Wilson, the list of potential candidates will be narrowed down as he rules out the lucky winner being an actor under 30.

Just over a year ago, Daniel Craig’s farewell to the role of James Bond was postponed from April 2020 to October 2021, with serious consequences for blockbusters and darkrooms.

Since then, the post-Craig issue has come up regularly, but without real progress. Aside from the constant weird rumors (Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy…), there is no real list of suitors yet. But after these statements of Michael Wilson, the number of potential candidates should be reduced.

While the hallway buzz made Timothée Chalamet the tuxedo favorite, the producer cut it short: “In the past, we’ve tried to look at young actors. But try to visualize it: it doesn’t work.”says the producer Deadline. “Remember Bond is a veteran. He has experience.”

Will we see James Bond make his film debut again?

“He’s a man who’s been through the wars, so to speak. He’s probably been in Sas or something. He’s not a high school kid to throw in the bath. So. That’s why he works with 30-somethings.”

A last sentence that also seems to rule out older actors like Tom Hiddleston (41) or Tom Hardy (45). Even Henry Cavill, who turns 40 next year. But it raises the possibility that Lucky is an upcoming actor about whom we currently know little. or not at all. It remains to be seen when the study will actually begin.
