Netflix: One of the worst superhero movies will soon leave the platform

The first adaptation of the Marvel superhero “Daredevil” performed by Ben Affleck will leave the catalog of the Netflix platform on October 14!

Years before the Netflix version saw the light of day, and long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was born, the superhero Daredevil was the subject of a 2003 film adaptation starring Ben Affleck.

Then at the height of his popularity, the actor (and Oscar-winning screenwriter Will Hunting) was heavily invested in the project, though he was originally slated to play the film’s villain, Bullseye, rather than Daredevil himself.

Unfortunately, Ben Affleck’s efforts were not rewarded; Lamented by critics but also comic book fans, the film failed to find its audience and replicate the success of the two most popular superhero franchises of the time: X-Men and Spider-Man.

More than just a failure, Daredevil epitomized Ben Affleck’s decline, charting a few years of crossing the wilderness from media failures and questionable artistic choices. As for the character of Daredevil, he was finally rehabilitated only fifteen years later, thanks to a new adaptation – this time in a TV series – with Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock.

The Daredevil movie with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner as Elektra (also the heroine of the disastrous spin-off) will finally leave the catalog of the Netflix platform on October 14.
