Sad news for 300 fans. Zack Snyder’s film – as well as its sequel, Rise of an Empire – will leave the Netflix catalog on October 14. So you only have one week left to make two peppers.

Released in 2006, 300 is an adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novel depicting the famous Battle of Thermopylae, which pitted King Leonidas and his Spartan soldiers against Xerxes and his vast Persian army in 480 AD. In the face of an invincible enemy, 300 showed superhuman courage until their last breath; Their bravery and heroic sacrifice inspired all of Greece to rise up against Persia, thus laying the foundation for democracy.

An epic film known for some of its lines (Spartans! Prepare for glory! / Spartans, what’s up with you?) and its cries (Ahou Ahou Ahou!). That’s Gerard Butler and his few extra pounds of muscle sliding under Leonidas’ helmet. 300 also marks a turning point in the career of a certain Michael Fassbender, as it’s his first feature film (yay!).

Shot entirely on green and blue screen (except for one scene), 300 was shot in a graphic film that Snyder loves and that brings Frank Miller’s style to life. Having grossed over $456 million worldwide on a $65 million budget, Warner Studios quickly began work on a sequel, this time directed by Sullivan Stapleton…
