TJ Miller no longer wants to work with Ryan Reynolds: “He was horribly mean to me”

TJ Miller starred as the bartender Weasel in the first two “Deadpool” films, where he frequently battled onscreen with co-star Ryan Reynolds. But Miller said on a recent episode of “The Adam Carolla Show” that he doesn’t think Reynolds likes him and therefore the two will no longer work together.

Not that Miller would likely return in the third “Deadpool” film, as the actor was charged with sexual abuse in 2017 and arrested in 2018 on suspicion of making a fake bomb threat to the train. Prosecutors ended up dismissing the case.

Miller was also accused in 2018 of abusing his “Silicon Valley” co-star Alice Wetterlund on set, which he denied.

Miller told Carolla that on the set of “Deadpool”, Reynolds was “terribly mean to me” while playing the foul-mouthed superhero.

“But to me, like I was Weasel,” Miller said, “it was like, ‘Do you know what’s good about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you have enough exposure to make it fun, so we can leave and come back. to the real movie … like, Cut …? ‘”

“That’s exactly why he said it,” Miller continued. “Because I’m not funnier than him, right? I haven’t acted in more films than him … Would I work with him again? No, I wouldn’t work with him again. I wish him luck because he’s so good at “Deadpool” and I think he’s weird that he hates me. “

Miller went on to call Reynolds an “insecure guy”, adding, “He’s such a good comedian that when you copy your face, he’s so quick, so funny. I love him as a comedian, but I think after he got super, super famous since. first “Deadpool,” things have changed. I think he was like, ‘See? See?’ “

“I think he doesn’t like me and I thought it was weird how he expressed it,” concluded Miller, noting that he doesn’t want “bad will” against the actor. Variety reached out to Reynolds’ rep for comment, which he did not respond.

Reynolds will return as a superhero in the upcoming Deadpool 3, which will also see the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Disney has already set the film’s release date for September 6, 2024.
