Marvel replaces Avengers Secret Wars, Deadpool 3 and Blade

Disney recently updated its release schedule and announced date changes for the Marvel movies “Deadpool 3,” “Blade” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.”

15 days ago, we learned that the director of the movie Blade, Basam Tariq, had left the shooting a few weeks before the shooting began. That’s why Marvel has halted production on the Mahershala Ali-directed film and is looking for a new director.

But this departure will delay the start of filming. That’s why Disney has just announced that the Vampire Hunter feature film will be delayed by almost a year. Scheduled for a November 1, 2023 release date, Blade will finally hit theaters on September 4, 2024.

Given the interrelationships between the MCU films, the delay caused by Blade therefore has implications for the rest of the films in development. Disney has just released a new release schedule.

Thus, scheduled for September 4, 2024, Deadpool 3 with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman has been delayed by 2 months and will be released in theaters on November 6 instead of Fantastic 4, which is dated February 12, 2025.

On the other hand, Avengers: Secret Wars, which was announced to hit our theaters on November 5, 2025, has finally been pushed back by six months and will be released on April 29, 2026. The final feature film in the multiverse saga is set to conclude Marvel’s Phase 6. Cinematic world. A year (instead of 6 months) now separates the two Avengers movies, as Kang Dynasty is still dated April 30, 2025.

Just a few months after Kevin Feige revealed plans for Phases 5 and 6 of the MCU, the calendar is completely turned upside down. Thunderbolts was supposed to come to wrap up Phase Five, but if the movie doesn’t get moved, it’s now Blade, which will be the last movie in that installment.

As a reminder, Black Panther 2, which should be released in theaters on November 9, will close the 4th phase of the MCU.
