Indeed, finally I am a legendA character played by Will Smith dies.
In 2019, Frances Lawrence announced on the podcast microphone happy sad confused :”Warner really wanted to do another one, but I didn’t see what I could do. I thought about it and came to the conclusion that people wanted to see the last man on earth, so they showed the last man on earth.
But since he dies in the end, we can’t do anything else. Also, I don’t think the audience is tied to the character like they might be with Indiana Jones. He is not the kind of icon that can be returned again and again. “

The director continues: “I thought a prequel would be a bit slow to do, it would be too similar to Contagion. And a sequel with Robert Neville wouldn’t be possible anyway, or he’d have to do something stupid like ‘scientists fixed’ his DNA and managed to recreate him.” That’s totally stupid There would be, so I preferred to take a bow.”
