It’s a hot topic, the arrival of advertising on the Netflix platform will materialize. After several months of waiting, the streaming giant has made a decision: from Thursday, November 3rd, a package of 5.99 euros per month will be launched across France from 17:00.
Titled Essential with Ads, this package brings some changes. The first is about video quality. Movies, series and documentaries will be offered in the maximum resolution of 720p HD. Some programs will be unavailable due to rights restrictions on certain titles, and offline downloads of programs will not be possible.
As for the ads, they will offer you an average of 4 to 5 minutes per hour. Formats can vary between 15 and 30 seconds and are activated before and during programs.
With this new package, Netflix joins the list of streaming platforms that have complied AVoD – Ad-supported video on demand. This Essential package will also be offered with advertising in many countries such as the United States,Germany, Australia, Brazil, Japan and even Korea.
