As we know, Colin Farrell will don the Penguin suit again in Matt Reeves’ Batman series The Penguin. The latter is due to begin filming in early 2023 for an anticipated launch on HBO Max the following year. While promoting her new film, Banshee of Inishreen, the actress did a few Secrets about the project :
“The action begins a week after the end of Batman. Gotham is still underwater so to speak. I read the pilot script and it opens with me in the cockpit of the Falcon with my feet in the water. To recap (and beware, what follows spoils the film’s ending), Gotham finds itself submerged after an attack by the Sphinx (Paul Dano), destroying part of the city in the process.
We don’t yet know exactly what Oswald Cobblepot aka Oz will be talking about this series – even if it makes sense that he’d be interested in Gotham’s underworld – or if Robert Pattinson’s campy Batman will make a cameo. The story should include”from six to eight o’clock“Always according to Farrell, who has only had access to the script for the first episode so far.
Everything will be written by Lauren LeFranc (Chuck and Marvel: Agents of SHIELD) and produced by Robert Pattinson, Reeves and Dylan Clark.
