Is the last episode of the first season of ‘She-Hulk’ the best thing Marvel has done on television?
The first season of ‘She-Hulk: Lawyer Hulka’ has come to an end with one of the best episodes of all the Marvel series on Disney +. If not the best, at least it cannot be denied that it is the most surprising.

And it is from the first minute, with an intro as a “previously” in which pays tribute in tone and characterization to the mythical series of the late 70’s ‘The Incredible Hulk’, starring Lou Ferrigno.
Following the events of the previous episode, in which trolls from the Intelligence website hacked into Jen’s cell phone and exposed her privacy publicly, Jen has been arrested for uncontrollably unleashing her She-Hulk in her fit of rage. Once again, and as she often does in real life, the focus is on the victim and not on the harassersand Jen is forced to accept a deal whereby she can’t transform back into She-Hulk, which means she loses her job at the law firm.
Nikki and Bug continue to investigate “King Hulk” and manage to infiltrate one of his events, while Jen decides to take up Emil “Abomination” Blonsky’s invitation and go to his spiritual retreat to disconnect. Once there, she discovers that Emil is the host of this group of misogynistic trolls and stalkers, who repeat like a mantra the most rancid topics of the most toxic and sexist internet. And not only that, but Todd Phelps, Jen’s sinister suitor, is the very leader King Hulk.
Todd reveals the orchestrated plan, which is none other than stealing She-Hulk’s blood so he can get her powers himself. He injects himself with the solution, turns into a Hulk, and all of a sudden, things start to go haywire. Titania appears, Hulk reappears from space, Abomination is still transformed… Everything seems to indicate that we will have an epic final fight, but then a genius happens.
Hulka escapes to the main screen of Disney + and, as if it were a comic character that escapes between vignettes, he enters the universe of ‘Assembled’. That is, in how the Marvel movies and series were made, materializing in Marvel Studios. There he locates the writers of the series and tells them off for writing “the same ending as always”, but they respond that it is what Kevin wants. Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios and architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? No. KEVIN, or what is the same, Visual Electronic Narrative Interconnection Kit. An Artificial Intelligence that decides, through algorithms, the future of Marvel.
Is metanarrative genius makes the series connect with the fans in an unimaginable way, and Jen becomes one more when she asks KEVIN about the X-Men, about the father-son problems of superheroes like Iron Man or Thor and about the comments that are generated on the internet about the franchise.
KEVIN tries to explain to Jen that this ending is necessary to explain what the Hulk did in space, to which Jen replies “leave that for the movie”. Has Marvel just confirmed the ‘Planet Hulk’ and/or ‘World War Hulk’ movie?
In the end, Jen gets, as a Deus Ex Machina, the ending she wanted. Todd will be tried in court, Emil responds by assuming his actions and Matt Murdock (Daredevil) revisits Los Angeles to make this ending a little less traumatic. But there is still a surprise to be revealed. In the family feast of “everyone was happy and ate partridges” Bruce Banner appears again, Hulk, to introduce someone very special: his son Skaar.
What role will Skaar play in the MCU? Will there be a second season of ‘She-Hulk’? Will we see the character in the Daredevil series working side by side with Matt Murdock? Where is the Leader, the supposed villain rumored that he was going to make his reappearance (supposedly) in the series and then be the bad guy in ‘Captain America 4’? Many questions and, at the moment, few answers for the character’s future. What is certain is that Jennifer Walters, although we still do not know how, will return. Lucky for the MCU.
