Jesse Williams isn’t ready to say goodbye to Grey’s Anatomy just yet. According to exclusive information DeadlineThe Jackson Avery translator will definitely make his big return to the medical series as a director and guest star in Season 19, Episode 5, which will air on November 3 in the United States. This will be the actor’s fourth time directing an episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
Jesse Williams left the show in spring 2021 after 12 seasons. His character actually left Gray Sloan, accompanied by his ex April (Sarah Drew) and their daughter, to settle in Boston to regain control of the Harper Avery Foundation.
After that departure, the two doctors returned in the Season 18 finale last May to help save Bailey’s residency program. A chance to prove that Jackson and April had indeed rekindled the fire in their absence.
In Season 19, Episode 5, titled “When I Go to the Border,” Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) finds Jackson during a trip to Boston. The episode also features Debbie Allen, who plays Jackson’s mother, Katherine. Unfortunately, Sarah Drew will not be participating in this long-awaited reunion.
Season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy was a turning point for the medical series, which decided to go back to basics. Six months after the events of the previous season, a new generation of interns arrived at Gray Sloan, camped by Alexis Floyd, Adelaide Kane, Harry Shum Jr., Nico Terho, and Midori Francis. They will face challenges and pressures to save lives while juggling work and personal life
