¡spoiler from ‘The Walking Dead’ season 11 below!

Rick Grimes Hasn’t Appeared on ‘The Walking Dead’ in a Few Yearsbut his bearded presence continues to haunt the series, even in these final episodes.

Part of this is due to his surprise appearances in flashbacks that recall some key moments in the history of ‘The Walking Dead’. Nevertheless, something very important happens in the last chapter, number 18, which modifies what Rick’s future could have been.

Civil unrest has gripped the Commonwealth, and of course all of our favorites are involved. Pamela Milton tries to regain control. But unfortunately, Sebastian is still a walking contraceptive ad, ruining everything her mom had built.

When Pamela finally convinces her son to apologize onstage for everything he’s done, a tape starts playing over the speakers, revealing what he really thinks of everyone.

This begins the harshest protests to date, which are quickly followed by an unexpected walker invasion – “The walkers have crossed the walls!

To save himself, Sebastian (being more Sebastian than ever) pushes Stephanie into an oncoming zombie, but Eugene saves her. While he is distracted, a zombie attacks Sebastian, who tries his best to get rid of it.

Sebastian screams, begging for help, but no one comes to his defense. They stare, like a bunch of vengeful kids watching the bully on duty get beat up by someone’s older brother. (With more blood and intestines in this case, of course).

That’s part of the horror of that moment,” commented Angela Kang, showrunner of the series, during a chat with DigitalSpy. “They feel that this man stayed out, so they are content to stay out themselves.

I think there’s the fantastical element that you want this guy to be devoured by,Kang added. But at the same time, there’s something downright terrifying about how easy it is to stay on the sidelines when something like this is going on.

Angela concluded by saying that the writing team “They like to do things the hard way.So you can interpret these moments in a myriad of different ways. In this case it’s true for the reasons mentioned above, but also for a deeper layer when it comes to the surprising connection between Sebastian and Rick Grimes.

Yes, this duo has never met on screen, but as comic book fans will know, Sebastian is one of the most important people in Rick’s life. And that’s because it is he who murders him.

At the end of ‘The Walking Dead #191’, Sebastian, deranged and with a gun, wakes up Rick. He tells her that everyone thinks too highly of him, and fears that his mother’s job is in jeopardy because of her growing influence in the Commonwealth.

Therefore, Sebastian pulls the trigger, and the thing ends with Rick covering his wound and asking: “What have you done?“.

Anyone who hoped that he would survive was wrong. Issue #192 begins with Sebastian shooting Rick three more times. So yes, Grimes is dead. Later in the morning, Carl wakes up to find his father turned into a zombie. He does what he has to do, and ends up with Rick. Again.

Sebastian is responsible for the double Rick’s death, which makes him enemy number one for the horde of ‘The Walking Dead’ fans, who have been with Rick since the beginning. Knowing this, Sebastian’s cruel and brutal death in the series is more enjoyable, but it also means that Rick’s fate on screen is more open than ever.

‘The Walking Dead’ has deviated more and more from the comics over time, so there was never a guarantee that Sebastian was going to be responsible for Rick’s death on screen. Nevertheless, knowing that he is about to return, there could have been a synchronization of his new series with the denouement of the originalincluding a potential appearance by Mr. Milton.

Of course, Rick is going to survive as long as Andrew Lincoln feels like being involved in the franchise. Even now, he remains the face of ‘The Walking Dead’ to many, and the RCM’s kidnapping of him in Season 9 is still a huge topic of debate among fans.

‘The Walking Dead: World Beyond’ has shed some light on the organization that took him, but Rick could not be seen at any point in the spin-off (except for some specific mention). And so, fans patiently waited for news about Rick Grimes movies, which seemed to be inactive, like a rotten old walker.

It was like that for a while, right up until Comic-Con 2022, when it was revealed that Rick and Michonne will close their story in a 6-episode miniseries. With Sebastian out of the picture, the outcome of the comics isn’t possible for Rick, but we’re sure there will be plenty of threats out there waiting for him.

Maybe everything stays in the family with an encounter with Pamela Milton, instead of with her son. Or maybe, just maybe, an old Rick will survive alongside an old Judith, his daughter.
