The actor has appeared before the Court virtually.
‘The Flash’ will arrive in June, but without a doubt its protagonist Ezra Miller is still in the news. The star of the film has pleaded not guilty to robbery charges in court in Vermont on Monday. Miller, charged with burglary of an occupied home and petty theft, faces up to 26 years in prison if convicted of both counts..
The actor appeared in Bennington Superior Court virtually with his attorney. Miller is accused of breaking into a residence in Stamford on May 1.. After investigating at the time, police discovered several bottles of alcohol missing from the property while the owners were not present. After collecting statements and reviewing surveillance footage, police charged Miller with felony burglary.
“Ezra Miller pleaded not guilty this morning to one count of burglary and one count of petty theft in Vermont Superior Court and agreed to court-imposed conditions not to contact or enter the occupants’ home. Ezra I would like to thank you for the love and support you have received from your family and friends, who continue to be a vital presence in your ongoing mental health,” said Miller’s attorney, Lisa B. Shelkrot.
The Vermont charges were just a couple of the controversies and legal issues Miller has faced in recent months.. The actor was arrested in Hawaii twice within a month, first for disorderly conduct and harassment and then for second-degree assault less than four weeks later. They pleaded no contest to the assault charge and paid a $500 fine and $30 in court costs. The harassment charge was later dismissed. Miller is also accused of suffocating a woman in an Icelandic bar and harassing another woman at his Berlin home.
In August, Miller apologized for his earlier behavior and began undergoing mental health treatment. “Having recently been through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering from complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” the 30-year-old actor said in a statement. “I want to apologize to everyone I have alarmed and annoyed with my past behavior. I commit to doing the work necessary to return to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life.“.
After being introduced as the DC superhero in ‘Justice League’ as Barry Allen in 2017, the solo film ‘The Flash’ will be released on June 23, 2023, after having many delays.
