The director of the last chapter of the season has recounted a mishap that arose during filming, but that they managed to solve in the funniest way possible.
Sibling relationships in ‘The House of the Dragon’ they are… curious. Incest among the Targaryens is a practice that we have already accepted seeing the connection that unites Daemon and Rhaenyra (and that we smelled from the first episodes), and let us remember that Aegon II and his little sister Helaena have married to preserve the blood of dragons. Nevertheless, If there are two brothers who have left us speechless, in this case because of their physical resemblance, they are the twins Ser Arryk Cargyll and Ser Erryk Cargyllplayed by Luke and Elliott Tittensor.
His role in the series stood out in the last two episodes. First when they were sent to find Prince Aegon after Viserys’s death. Then, a chapter later, when Erryk decides to be faithful to The Greens and travel to Dragonstone to give him the crown and kneel before Rhaenyra.
Located? Good, because now we know that one of them had COVID during filming and had to be replaced by his brother. Specifically, Luke (Arryk) had to play Elliot’s role, Erryk, in one scene, thus giving us the funniest cast change in ‘The House of the Dragon’, and above all the one we have least noticed.
As detailed by Greg Yaitanes, director of the last episode of the installment during a portal podcast ew, the scene where Erryk was actually Arryk is just as Corlys Velaryon arrives at Dragonstone’s hall after his illness and gives the message of his appearance. “Elliot contracted COVID, so we traded him for his brother,” he says with relief, as the character of Luke Tittensor had become very important after swearing allegiance and protection to the queen. We love these trivia about the series!
