The series “Dune: The Sisterhood” (“Dune: The Sisterhood” in the original) has confirmed another name for the cast of the production. Actor Travis Fimmel will be featured in the franchise’s spin-off, which will air on HBO.
Fimmel is best known for his successful performance in “Vikings”, a History Channel production, in which he played one of the protagonists of the story, the legendary Norwegian hero Ragnar Lothbrok. The actor also starred in the film “Warcraft” and the “Raised by Wolves” series, created by director Ridley Scott.
In “Dune: The Brotherhood,” Fimmel will play the character of Desmond Hart. He is described as “a charismatic soldier with a mysterious past trying to win the trust of the Emperor at the expense of the Brotherhood”.
The plot of the series will take place 10,000 years before the events of “Dune” and is based on the novel “Brotherhood of Dune” by authors Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The spin-off will follow the story of the Harkonnen sisters as they face the forces that threaten the future of humanity and establish the formation of the legendary Bene Gesserit sect.
In addition to Travis Fimmel, “Dune: The Sisterhood” will feature the likes of Emily Watson, Shirley Henderson and Indira Varma, who starred in “Game of Thrones”. Other confirmed actors in the cast are Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Faoileann Cunningham, Aoife Hinds and Chloe Lea.
The production of “Dune: The Brotherhood” will be by Diane Ademu-John, writer, co-showrunner and executive producer of the series. Director Johan Renck, who worked on “Chernobyl”, will direct the first two episodes of the spin-off.
The upcoming “Dune” series will also see Denis Villeneuve, who directed the original film released in theaters in 2021. in 2023.
