Kevin Feige discusses Black Panther’s future in the MCU: “These characters deserve to continue”

“Black Panther” has a strong future in the MCU, according to Marvel boss Kevin Feige. Speaking with Variety, Feige shared his plans for other films, as well as his hopes that “Black Panther” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” director Ryan Coogler will be at the helm.

Feige confirmed that he had “talked” about “Black Panther 3” and had some ideas. However, Coogler hasn’t confirmed his return for other MCU films, but is working on the “Ironheart” series and has the “Wakanda” TV show in development. Though working with Coogler is the “preference,” Feige said she would continue the story without him if need be.

“I go back to what I said when we decided to do ‘Wakanda Forever’ after losing Chad,” added the Marvel boss. “This mythology, this ensemble and these characters deserve to continue and will continue after we are all gone, I hope, and will continue forever in movies as they have in comics for over 50 years.”

Feige also revealed that he hasn’t argued with the director about “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which is due out in May 2026, despite rumors circulating that Coogler is a favorite.

“I wish Ryan would do anything at any time, because he’s a unique talent and a great person to spend years with,” she said. “But no, in all honesty, there were no conversations. We didn’t tell him about “Secret Wars”.

Coogler has not yet committed to any other “Black Panther” films and has shrugged off the rumors of “Avengers: Secret Wars”. “I love making films, but to nominate a character in our film, I gave it my all,” he said.

“This movie has everything I have. I’m in that place where I think I have this press tour inside me and then I have to sit down and reflect. I probably cry a lot, because I have clung to this. And then from there, find out what comes next. ”Recently, a producer confirmed that“ Black Panther 3 ”is on the radar.

“Black Panther 2” hits theaters this Thursday (10).
