“Our executives cried,” says the “Stranger Things” creator of season five

“Stranger Things” is one of the most acclaimed series in Netflix history, with a very loyal and passionate fan base. Natural, therefore, that the wait for the 5th and final season is very long. To calm a little (or less) the public’s anxiety, the creators of the production commented on the series during an event in Los Angeles (United States). If you’re a big fan, get ready: the crying is coming.

At the press conference of the event, Matt Duffer, one of the creators of “Stranger Things”, said that the script for the new season brought the executives of the series to tears.

“We made our leaders cry. I thought it was a good sign to see them cry. The only other times I’ve seen them cry was in budget meetings,” Matt joked. “They were different tears,” concluded Shawn Levy, executive producer of “Stranger Things” and one of the “criers.”

At the end of the conference, Ross Duffer, Matt’s brother and also co-creator of the series, commented on whether “Stranger Things” will continue with a more “horror” imprint.

“I think what we’re trying to do is go back to the beginning a little bit in the tone of season one, but in terms of scale it’s more in line with what season four is about. I hope it has a little bit of everything.”
