On Friday evening (18/11), the Festival de Brasília screened the premiere of “The Shepherd and the Guerrilla”, a new film by José Eduardo Belmonte (“Alemão”), which sees in the cast the new muse of Bolsonarismo, Cassia Kis. Curiously, the film denounces the excesses of the military dictatorship when the actress decides to pray in front of the barracks for the return of military “intervention” in the country.
With a critical plot, the film presents Cassia as the protagonist’s grandmother, played by Julia Dalavia (Guta from “Pantanal”), the bastard daughter of a torturer colonel who fought in the Araguaia guerilla in 1975 and committed suicide in 1999.
The film shows scenes of guerrilla warfare and torture, and highlights the torturer’s remorse.
The cast also includes Johnny Massaro (“Secret Truths”), César Mello (“Good Morning, Veronica”) and Ricardo Gelli (“Rota 66: The Police That Kill”)
The commercial debut is scheduled for January 26th. See below the poster and a making of the production.
