Messi says he is physically fit and reiterates that it will be his last World Cup

Argentina is preparing for its World Cup debut in Qatar. This Tuesday, the team will face Saudi Arabia, at 7:00 (Brasilia time), at the Estádio Lusail. Before the first match, Lionel Messi held a press conference and clarified his physical situation.

An image of the player’s ankle went viral this morning. In the photo, the region looked very swollen, but Messi said it was in excellent condition and ready to help Argentina at the World Cup.

“I feel very good physically, I’m in a great moment physically and personally. I trained differently the other day as a precaution, because I suffered a stroke, but nothing extraordinary,” he said.

The Argentine also reiterated that it was his last World Cup and the last chance to fulfill his dream of lifting the cup.

“It is certainly my last World Cup and the last chance to realize this great dream. Many things I have experienced in my life have gone unnoticed. Now I try to live in the present and enjoy it,” he explained.

“Age makes you see things differently and give importance to small details that I didn’t give before. Today, enjoying everything is above everything,” he added.

Argentina vs Saudi Arabia

“We hope to continue growing with this group, everyone is feeling very well. A difficult match awaits us against Arabia, we have to manage anxiety and nervousness well. We will look for the match from the start”

The affection from the crowd

“It’s great that people who are not Argentines support me. I am grateful for the love I receive in the world and here in Qatar it is another example”
