Captain during winning season in Serie B, defender praised Uruguayan coach and Ronaldo’s management
Captaining Cruzeiro during their Série B winning campaign that season, defender Eduardo Brock recognized the importance of coach Paulo Pezzolano during his time at Raposa. According to him, the Uruguayan coach was responsible for renewing his contract in May.
– I began to understand what Pezzolano wanted to do, I worked for that too, always trying to reproduce what he was doing and things started to evolve. Obviously he helped me a lot too, defending me publicly, asking for my renewal. (…) I owe it (contract renewal) to him – said the player, in an interview with Rádio Independente.
It is worth mentioning that the defender is one of Cruzeiro’s few certainties for next season. In addition to Brock, Rafael Cabral, Neto Moura and Filipe Machado are the rest who have a guaranteed stay for next year.
Elsewhere, the defender returned to praise Ronaldo Fenômeno’s management at the star-studded club. Eduardo Brock revealed that there was initial mistrust, but said that professionalism is the big difference in the team led by the majority shareholder of SAF do Cruzeiro.
– Then Ronaldo, his whole team, with enormous professionalism, unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in football, really. It’s a new football that is being born, new clubs, it has a much greater financial responsibility – he added -.
For 2023, Celestial’s main objective is to remain among the elite of Brazilian football. In addition, Raposa will fight for the Campeonato Mineiro title and to advance, as far as possible, in the Copa do Brasil.
