Bar on OCS: 3 Good Reasons for the Funny Series Worn by Bill Header

First, let’s get back to the basics: what are we talking about? Barry Berkman, the contract killer at the end of his career, no longer has a taste for anything and the job will deter him. In Los Angeles, to fulfill his contract, the bar discovers a new inner fire: the theater. Convinced that he can change careers and become the center of attention, he wants to leave his bloody past behind. Persecuted by his demons and the sponsor of his contract, Barry’s double life may turn against him …

The promise of this unique scenario makes it possible to create a series that works on several levels: first of all, stop and tension in a life full of danger, it’s a contract killer. Then, on a more personal and sentimental level, which is to seek oneself and fulfill passion. The wholeness is covered in black humor that plays with the constant change of his characters, giving a perfect mix between Dexter, Ozark and Fargo.

What a pleasure to finally see Bill Header in the title role of a great production! Found in supporting roles such as SuperGrave, Tonnerre sous les tropics or voting in Vice-Versa or Monsters Academy, he eventually becomes an actor who counts thanks to Barry. For this case he also takes on the role of producer and co-writer and thus can adapt his character.

But the bar is not alone! Around him we find a whole gallery of atypical characters that are rarely seen on screen. For example, there is Sally, a young and ambitious actress played by Sarah Goldberg, or Gene Cusino, an extravagant theater teacher played by Henry Winkler, the famous fonz from the cult series Happy Days. But the revelation is led by Anthony Kerrigan, who plays Noho Hank, the cheerful right-wing man of the Mafia, with naive desire.

The first two seasons of the bar caused a great deal of controversy and the series won over thirty Emmy Award nominations. Six sculptures were won there, namely the play by Bill Haider, which was a two-time winner in 2018 and 2019 as the best actor in a comedy series. He was also awarded three times at the WGA Awards, a ceremony given to American screenwriters, thus emphasizing the quality of his writing. After a two-year hiatus, fans are looking forward to a third season. On the cake, they can already rejoice to hear that the fourth chapter is being made!
