Messi declares himself to Argentinian fans at the World Cup: “Incredible sensations”

The Argentine star spoke about the relationship with Albiceleste fans

Lionel Messi scored one of Argentina’s goals in a 2-1 win against Australia this Saturday, in a match valid for the round of 16 of Qatar World Cup. The Albiceleste star, voted man of the match, commented on the relationship with the fans and declared himself to the Argentines.

– They are incredible feelings and we love to share these moments with them (fans). We know they struggled to be here and we also remember those in Argentina. This union that we have is something very beautiful and that is what the national team should be. We wanted to reunite with our people again because it’s amazing how they live it and how they give us this joy. We thank you – said Messi.

The Argentinian champion also commented on the sensation of being qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar, underlining the performance of the Albiceleste against Australia.

– I am very happy that I took another step towards the goal. It was a very difficult and very physical match. We came from playing recently and didn’t have time to rest. We were concerned about that because they were strong in that regard. We found ourselves aiming to control the game and then double up, even if we suffered a bit and got complicated with the goal that Australia scored.
