The victory of the World Cup for the Azzurri turned 40 years old
Poste Italiane, the national postal service company, issued this Monday (5) a new stamp to celebrate Italy’s victory at the 1982 World Cup.
The stamp was launched in the same year in which the historic title of Azzurra in Spain turned 40.
The drawing shows one of the most striking moments of the conquest of Madrid, Spain against West Germany. The work clearly highlights the coach Enzo Bearzot, the forward Paolo Rossi and the defender Gaetano Scirea.
After defeating Brazil and beating Poland in the semi-final, Italy faced West Germany in the final and won 3-1, with goals from Paolo Rossi, Marco Tardelli and Alessandro Altobelli.
