Notodofilmfest 2022: All the nominees on its 20th anniversary

Notodofilmfest celebrates 20 years as the best showcase for short-format audiovisual production, we present the 42 nominees for this edition.

    Notodofilmfest meets in 2022, 20 editions. 20 years telling stories in the best showcase of audiovisual production in short format. In order to celebrate this anniversary and highlight for another year the good state of health of the short film in our country, The Notodofilmfest community will celebrate the Awards Ceremony Gala next Tuesday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m. in Callao Cinemas.

    The actress Mariam Hernández will act as master of ceremonies for a gala in which prizes valued at more than 20,000 euros will be awarded, divided into 19 categories. The gala can also be followed in streaming through the Notodofilmfest YouTube channel.

    The film director Javier Fesser and co-founder of Notodofilmfest, together with La Fábrica, has acted as president of the jury in an edition that has also included Isabel Coixet, Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, Macarena García and Jaime Ortiz.

    jury members have selected the 42 nominees among more than 500 shorts submitted to the contest.

    Among them are finalists in the category a Best film, a total of six short films: ‘Aldeaseca’, by Miguel Pertejo and Sergio Alonso; ‘Apnea’, by Luz Soria; ‘When the grass grows’, by María Monreal; ‘Particles without mass’, by Joel Munu; ‘Subjective Sound’, by Manuel Pico and Alejandro Pau; and ‘One more day’, by Juan Carrascal Ynigo.

    For their part, they are nominated in the category notall 30″: ‘(it doesn’t) happen to me’, by Alba Pino; ‘Anegro’, by Ana García Vieiros; ‘El Afeitado’, by Pablo P. Méndez Kodiak; and ‘It’s me’, by Joe Gómez and Rubén Valero.

    The SET La Rioja Award, has returned to the list of honors for the third time in a row, this time with the La Rioja actress Mabel del Pozo as ambassador. This year, the nominees in the category are: ‘Have you loved like this?’, by Andrea Soldevilla; ‘Conversation between vineyards’, by Marina Galilea; ‘The golden beetle’, by Alberto Rivas (VideoMoon); and ‘Holy Thursday’, by Mario Mariño.

    They will opt for Valladolid Creative City Award – which in its second edition has had the creator Marta Medina as ambassador – the short films: ‘5 stars’, by Alejandro Martos; ‘Forgetting does not defeat the invisible’, by David Nieto; ‘Walker (Flanneur)’, by Raúl Melero; and ‘One more day’, by Juan Carrascal Ynigo.

    In the category Fuerteventura Natural Film Set, sponsored by Mariam Hernández herself, the nominees are: ‘Audios’, by Alejandro Artiles and Alberto Lahoud; ‘Claudia’, by Javier Gálvez Calvo; ‘Double of light’, by Alberto Rivas (Videomoon); and ‘The Lord of the Curve’, by Gaspar G. Gariglio.

    The award Madrid 21 Districts which also joins the list of winners, had the Madrid filmmaker Almudena Vázquez as ambassador. The short films will compete in this category: ‘Madrid’, by Fede Zordan; ‘More than Food’, by Benja Bock; ‘I Hate Beatriz Galindo’, by Javier Parra; and ‘Subjective Sound’, by Manuel Pico and Alejandro Pau.

    The award call it cancer invites filmmakers to portray, through audiovisual creation, the social reality of cancer. Sergio Milán, winner of the category last year, has acted as ambassador this year. The short films nominated are: ‘What did the bear die of?’, by Paula Amor; ‘Dreamcatcher’, by David Gaspar; ‘In the kitchen’, by Equipo Uveme; and ‘The wait’, by Oscar Toribio Carbayo.

    Notodofilmfest has once again had the category AC/E Spanish Talent Award by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), an award endowed with 2,000 euros and training at a prestigious film school. The nominees for this award are: ‘Particles without mass’, by Joel Munu; ‘Aldeaseca’, by Miguel Pertejo and Sergio Alonso; ‘When the grass grows’, by María Monreal; and ‘Subjective Sound’, by Manuel Pico and Alejandro Pau.

    OpenECAM Award for Best Director: Miguel Pertejo and Sergio Alonso, for ‘Aldeaseca’; David Gaspar, for ‘Dreamcatcher’; María Monreal, for ‘When the grass grows’; Luis Suarez Bracho, for ‘Dilemma’; and Joel Munu, for ‘Massless Particles’.

    Award for Best Performance: Javier Herrero for ‘Aldeaseca’; María Sorribes and David Gaspar, for ‘Dreamcatcher’; Rosario Pardo, for ‘The Fire’; Juanma Cifuentes, for ‘I have fished’; and Nuria Fernández, for ‘The wait’.

    Best Screenplay Award: David Gaspar for ‘Dreamcatcher’; María Monreal, for ‘When the grass grows’; Javier Parra, for ‘I hate Beatriz Galindo’; and Joel Munu and Esther Sala for ‘Particles without mass’.

    Cámara Abierta 2.0 Award for Best Documentary: ‘Anegro’, by Ana García Vieiros; ‘In the kitchen’, by Equipo Uveme; ‘This too will pass’, by Clara de la Rúa; ‘More Than Food’, by Benja Bock; and ‘One more day’, by Juan Carrascal Ynigo.

    IED Madrid Award for Best Artistic Direction: Luz Soria and Jose Barbado for ‘Apnea’; Lucía Trapero and Aitana Rodriguez for ‘Buh!’; Kris Tsai for ‘Map’; and Noelia Míguez for ‘Very difficult’.

    Award for Best Animated Film: ‘Huejazz’, by El Artgentino; ‘A booger’s nightmare’, by Dani Blanco; ‘Weeping Sound’, by José Ramón Bas; and ‘Ребенок (The Boy)’, by Alex Rey.

    Best Production Award: ‘From the neighborhood’, produced by José Antonio Merchán and Tere Candón; ‘Apnea’, produced by Rosel Murillo; ‘Very Difficult’, produced by José Provencio and ‘Párticulas sin más’, produced by Joel Munu.

    Best Sound Award: Óscar Mora for ‘Don’t you see it?’; Iker Aranguren for ‘When the grass grows’; Fernando Cano for ‘I have fished’; and Manuel Pico for ‘Subjective Sound’.

    Distribution Award: ‘Claudio’, by Rebeca Alemañy; ‘Subjective Sound’, by Manuel Pico and Alejandro Pau; ‘Ребенок (The Child)’, by Alex Rey; ‘Alba’, by JC Delibes; ‘I’ve fished’, by José Luis Pallarés and Juan Alcaraz (Mostacho Brothers); and ‘When the grass grows’, by María Monreal.

    In addition, this edition joins the list of winners Platinum Crowdfunding Awardto which all the nominated titles of the edition will opt.
