Volkswagen ID. Buzz, also known as electric Kombi, shines in Euro NCAP, gets 5 stars for safety and is already tested in Brazil
The old Kombi was discontinued by Volkswagen do Brasil, about 10 years ago, for safety reasons. There was no way to equip the Kombi with the two airbags that had become mandatory in the country. But now another Kombi has achieved a feat: 5 stars in a crash test.
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz, also known as electric Kombi, achieved the highest level of excellence during the safety tests carried out by Euro NCAP.
The five 5 stars derive from the excellent score, with an efficiency margin of 92% in the category “Protection of adult occupants”. The result is due to the robust vehicle structure and the latest safety systems and functions.
Made in Hanover, Germany, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is equipped with multiple features such as autonomous emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection function and active lane change assistant (Lane Assist).

In Europe, another flagship of the ID. Buzz has traffic and self-parking data. The first feature facilitates partially autonomous driving across the entire speed range and, for the first time, assisted lane change on the road is also available. The self-parking memory function saves a previously visited parking space or stop.
Unlike the old Kombi, discontinued due to lack of airbags, the electric MKombi has six airbags: front, side and curtain.
In tests in Brazil
The electric Kombi has been continuing engineering research and presentations with the target audience at Volkswagen do Brasil since September.
The ID presence initiative. The buzz around here, as well as the arrival of other models in the ID Family, such as the fully electric ID.3 and ID.4, meet the Way to Zero initiative and reinforce the brand’s commitment to plans decarbonisation of the company and its products.
