The journalist, anti-racist activist and speaker Natália Romualdo, 26, died on Saturday 10 in Sao Paulo, victim of cardiorespiratory arrest. The death of the founder of the “Papo de Preta” channel was announced on her social networks by her friend and partner, Maristela Rosa.

“This is the hardest text I have ever written in my entire life, I never expected it to happen. I, Maristela, am here out of respect and love for you, friends and followers of Papo de Preta. Natália, our Nat got sick, had cardiorespiratory arrest and died,” Maristela began in the post.

Natalia was even taken to the hospital after feeling bad, but she couldn’t resist. “It’s been almost 10 years of friendship, more than 7 years on the channel; of the most amazing things I’ve experienced in my life, many have been with this incredible woman! I still can’t believe it. It hurts so much for me, for the family , for everyone who met Natalia,” the friend lamented in the post.

Maristela also asked for the prayers of the followers and thanked everyone for their affection. “The penny hasn’t sunk yet, we’re trying to keep strength and remember only the moments of joy it gave us,” she added.

With over 180,000 subscribers on YouTube, the ‘Papo de Preta’ channel was created to give black women a chance and a voice. Through it, Natália and Maristela approached content about pop culture, daily life, beauty and society.
