The Twitter profile of Flamengo players and ex-athletes was hacked on Monday evening; publications satirized the rivalry between rubro-negros and bathtubínos
Flamengo midfielder Everton Ribeiroand former players of the Rio de Janeiro team Diego Ribas And roundedtheir Twitter profiles were hacked simultaneously on the night of Monday the 12th. The person responsible – or those responsible – for the invasion published offensive posts and satirized the rivalry that the Rossoneri have with Vasco.
“Just passing by to let you know that Vasco bought me. Thank you,” posted Éverton Ribeiro’s profile, tagging the @zestyx64 account in the post.
The same profile was also mentioned in publications made on Twitter by Diego Ribas, who announced his retirement at the end of the season, and by Rodinei, who moved to Olympiakos, from Greece. The same false information about a possible transfer to Vasco was disclosed in the three accounts.
A tweet posted, but then deleted on Diego’s account, stated that the former midfielder has always had a preference for the rival club: “Many ask me if I prefer Vasco or Flamengo, I always answer and I replied that Flamengo it’s a m… e I’m just doing my duty, but my dream is to play for Vasco. I’m resigning, Flamengo.”
The message is fake. In addition to having already hung up his boots and now work as a commentator during the World Cup for Rede Globo, Diego Ribas has a strong bond with Flamengo.
Around 23:40, Diego’s profile even wrote that the account had been recovered, apologizing for the offensive and lying messages.
“Hello everyone. After a lot of effort I managed to recover my Twitter account through support. I apologize for the offensive tweets posted on my account. I have created a server on Discord to talk about what happened,” said the publication followed by a link to the Discord interaction platform.
In the comments, users following the case — around midnight the term “Hackearam” was already one of the most searched on Twitter — did not believe that it was, in fact, the former player behind the text and the interpretation of the action as a hacker prank.
The distrust was founded. In the other hacked profiles, by Rodinei and Everton Ribeiro, publications were also made that forward users to the same platform (Discord). In the messages there was the threat that the Choquei profile, which has more than 2.8 million followers, would also be invaded.
Until the publication of the text, the other social accounts of the three showed no signs of invasion. Everton Ribeiro was the only one to use Instagram to notify users that their Twitter had been hacked.
