Oswald the Rabbit comes back to life at Disney after almost 100 forgotten years; look

Celebrating its 100 years of life, Disney has decided to resurrect one of Walt Disney’s earliest creations, forgotten for almost 100 years: Oswald, the lucky rabbit.

To celebrate, Disney has released a new short film featuring the character. Oswald had already come back to life in 2010 in the game “Epic Mickey“. Oswald was created jointly by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in 1927 while their fledgling animation studio was under contract to Universal Pictures.

Oswald debuted in popular shorts, but when Universal claimed ownership of Oswald and continued to produce the shorts without Disney, Wal removed the character from his creations and developed his most famous cartoon, Mickey Mouse.

Only in 2006 did Disney recover the rights to Oswald, but this is the first time he has appeared in a short film since then.

“Oswald is such a brave thief. We wanted to bring Oswald back, and in short, literally back to his original home, the movie screen,” says director Eric Goldberg.
