Experiencing different historical eras, the Bolshoi Theater remains the center of attraction for many talents. The authors of the upcoming documentary “Big. Season”, choosing for this one of the most dramatic moments in the history of the Bolshoi – the 246th post-pandemic season.
How to find your place, how to succeed, how to succeed, overcome failures and injuries and bring your work to the desired result in a theater that employs more than three thousand people – this will be told by various heroes of the film, whose fates are connected with this place today. Among these people are not only prima, such as, for example, Svetlana Zakharova or Anna Netrebko, but also directors, production designers, conductors and heads of workshops. The documentary project, like a theatrical production, is divided into 4 acts.
Shooting of the film “Big. Season” were held from 2020 to 2022. The Bolshoi Theater opened its doors to documentary filmmakers and allowed the use of modern technology to show its closed internal infrastructure. The film was directed by Anastasia Popova, a nominee for the Golden Eagle 2022 award for the film Baikal. The Amazing Adventures of Yuma.
Premiere of the documentary “Big. Season” will take place on December 24 at the KION online cinema.
