The final episode of the sixth season reveals where the shots could go in a sequel…
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 6 OF ‘RICK AND MORTY’
The last season of ‘Rick and Morty’ began almost exactly where we left off last year. The ‘Rick and Morty’ Season 5 Finale Ended With Some Pretty Reveals squanchincluded Evil Morty’s ultimate goal, as well as the truth behind Diane’s death. But… It seems that this sixth season quickly forgot about the matter, bringing back another of the loose ends of the series.
The first episode of season 6 of ‘Rick and Morty’ revealed that Weird Rick (The “bad” Rick), The person responsible for the death of the wife of the Rick we know is actually the original Rick. The “Main Rick”. Our Rick took his place after the death of his own family at the hands of Weird Rick.
Although the season has had episodes of all kinds and self-concluding stories of the house, Searching for this Rick Principal has continued as a main plot throughout all the episodes, and the tenth, the season finale, has not been less. But it all starts in the penultimate chapter, 1×09, ‘A Rick in King Morturo’s Morty’, where we now discover that Rick cloned himself with a robot that replaced him.
While our Rick continued to investigate the whereabouts of Principal Rick, the robot Rick began to win the hearts of the Smith family with his empathy and kindness, programmed to be “22% more attentive“. The reason is given by Rick himself in chapter 10: “Do you want to know why I replaced myself? You called me boring. I have become a dog to you. That’s what happens when you let people in and they stop respecting you. They touch your shit, they mess things up. they kill your family.”
Although Rick is a grump and doesn’t want to admit it, the truth is that he suffers from a feeling of discomfort for his mission of revenge. The scientist is self-aware enough to see the ways in which his intense commitment to finding Rick Prime hurts both himself and those he cares about, but it is incapable of changing and therefore finds it preferable to hide what it is doing. But what exactly is he doing?
Rick is analyzing the clues Main Rick left behind from their last encounter, comparing the villain’s hologram butt to that of other Ricks and trying to dismantle the artifact he left behind. When trying to triangulate his position, It seems that Rick Principal is in an infinite number of places in the universe at the same time. This may be because Rick Principal cloned himself (wouldn’t be anything new).
In any case, Rick makes it clear to Morty that the search for Rick Principal will be key in season 7 from ‘Rick and Morty’. Perhaps “not in every episode, Morty, it could continue to happen in the background, who knows,” says the scientist.
