Luckily I had plenty of time to prepare,” he went on to say, “I went to several classes at different institutes, there I was able to record their voices. There are many differences between adolescents between the ages of 12 and 15.

This gave the actress a starting point for her character, for which she combined aspects of her own experience during adolescence.

He added: “Once I saw that I thought: ‘okay, I can let Kiri come out’. Whoever that is, combined with who I was at 14. It was kind of a mess.

“It gave me a lot to work with, and by the time I got around to doing it, I really enjoyed leaving my shell behind and becoming that’runny‘ For a while.”
