The ‘John Wick’ universe expands with a spin-off starring the ‘Blonde’ actress
The ‘John Wick’ universe does not stop expanding. To the premiere of ‘John Wick 4’, which is just around the corner, and the announcement that the series ‘The Continental’ will premiere on Amazon Prime Video at the end of 2023, now adds the start of production in Prague of ‘Ballerina’, the spin-off of the franchise that will star Ana de Armas and that it will have the presence of Keanu Reeves himself resuming his role as John Wick.

The spin-off starring Ana de Armas will delve into the history of Ruska Roma, the criminal organization led by The Director (Anjelica Huston) that we were able to glimpse briefly in ‘John Wick 3: Parabellum’.
‘Ballerina (John Wick)’, Crew and Synopsis
‘Ballerina’, Directed by Len Wiseman (‘Underworld’) and written by Shay Hatten (‘John Wick 3: Parabellum’), will tell the story of a young woman trained as an assassin since she was little who seeks revenge against those who killed not her dog, but her entire family.
The underworld of criminal dancers in the style of ‘Black Widow’ appeared briefly in the third installment of the saga starring Keanu Reeves, leaving the seed planted for this new project that is already underway under the supervision of producers Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski.

Filming has started in Prague, but for the moment no release date has been set. The normal thing would be to be able to enjoy ‘Ballerina’ throughout 2024.

Also, Collider has reported exclusively the presence of Keanu Reeves on set of the film, although at the moment we do not know if John Wick will have an important role in the plot or if it will be a simple cameo.
