Competition in the sector and interested clubs make Verdão reflect on the transfer

Palmeiras must have another striker depart this window

Palmeiras continue without reinforcements in this transfer window, but are very active in terms of players leaving the squad. The next position to undergo changes should be the attack, which already had Wesley’s deal with Cruzeiro. The focus now is to find the best solution for the center forward role, which is very competitive and with names that attract the market.

Last Monday, an indication of this possibility of changes in attack was given by coach Marcelo Tejera, who is looking after the career of Miguel Merentiel. In an interview for the “Revista Colorada” website, the agent said he spoke to two Brazilian clubs, but did not reveal their names. Apparently, he is a player with a market in this transfer window.

In the last week the TO THROW! found that Rafael Navarro’s personnel were being wanted by Famalicão-POR e Cruzeiro. Verdão hasn’t received any official offers for the striker, but he knows he’s a highly regarded athlete on the transfer market. If the technical commission says it does not have its football for the 2023 season, a loan is frowned upon by the board.

Both haven’t had much room in the year 2022, especially after Endrick’s promotion to pro. The youngster should be an absolute starter as center forward next year. In addition, he is a very competitive position in the squad, also counting on López and Rony, who would be a “lateral” player, but has long been acting impromptu in the reference. Both the Argentine and the number 10 are currently treated as non-negotiable and remain in the squad.

The cases of Merentiel and Navarro are treated differently. Both are part of coaching staff plans and have not been placed on a ‘transfer list’. However, they could be negotiated in case of an offer that suits all parties. Since these are players with a good transfer market and who have aroused the interest of some teams, it is very likely that one of them will agree to leave Verdão on loan in the coming weeks.

It is worth mentioning that Palmeiras sold Wesley to Cruzeiro and are negotiating the loan of Breno Lopes to Fortaleza or Asian football. In all, Alviverde could have three offensive outings for the 2023 season. A reinforcement for the position is not expected so far in this transfer window. The cast, with as few backlogs as possible, will appear on January 2 at the Football Academy, to begin face-to-face work at the Football Academy.
