Showrunners Reveal Plans for ‘Wednesday’ Season 2

Wednesday showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have spoken to The Hollywood Reporter about plans for the show’s second season. The creators would like to explore and complicate the relationship between the students of Nevermore Academy – Wednesday, Xavier, the werewolf Enid and the siren Bianca.

Another intention of the director of the project, Tim Burton, is to continue to explore the relationship of mother and daughter, Morticia and Wednesday. The creators also want to focus on the theme of female friendship and sisterhood.

For us, this show is really about female friendship, with Wednesday and Enid at the center. Now that Wednesday has taken a little dip in the friendship pool, it’s interesting to speculate on how her relationships with those around her will develop further.

The spin-off of the iconic “Addams Family” was released on the Netflix streaming platform on November 23. The show tells how the daughter of Morticia and Gomez ended up in the school where her parents once studied. The children of outsiders gathered in the boarding house – sirens, werewolves, gorgons and many others. Wednesday has the gift of clairvoyance. She learns to control her abilities and searches for the monster that is killing Nevermore students.

The series “Wednesday” broke the record for viewing English-language shows on the famous streaming platform. In the first week after the premiere of the spin-off “The Addams Family” was viewed more than 341.2 million times.
