Art, the clown
In both the first and second films, director Damien Leone doesn’t quite say who Art, the Clown, the killer clown of. In the first it is even possible to believe that he is a human being, perhaps possessed by some entity. But since he dies at the end of one film and reappears in the second, the idea that Art isn’t some bizarre creature from the depths of hell is further pushed aside.
The macabre clown is played by David Howard Thornton, who already has a few productions of him horror on your resume. The actor previously played the Grinch in a Broadway musical, and Art is his first film role, masterfully performed.
Before entering the slasher of terrifying 2, it’s worth pointing out how scary Craft can be. Thornton terrifies not only in the excellent characterization, which makes the legs shake to those who are afraid of clowns, but also in the mannerisms. The killer doesn’t make any sound from his mouth and resorts to mimicry in his few attempts to communicate.
Art celebrates their deaths as if he were winning a soccer championship, but also mimics crying when someone sees what he did to his victim, as well as shrugging his shoulders as if to say “oops, sorry.” We also see the clown with the completely destroyed victims playing with what’s left of the body, just a big pile of flesh.
gore to the extreme
terrifying 2 it’s “gore” in the extreme. Who used to watch movies from horror killer, looking at any released feature film of the genre, perhaps you are already used to it. Trashy movies, for example, are the ones that most attract nausea-inducing disturbing scenes, but to come up with these titles, the person really has to be a connoisseur of style.
But who used to watch mainstream horror movies, terrifying 2 It can be extremely traumatizing. The movie became popular precisely because it made people sick in the cinema, but that doesn’t mean it’s “just another horror movie.” You have to be strong to resist.
The fateful bedroom scene is one of the most traumatic experiences a sensitive person can have in a movie theater. The character’s murder is filled with gratuitous torture scenes, because for Art, The Clown doesn’t just kill, he causes a lot of pain. The clown feeds on the suffering of the victims, gouging out their eyes, scalping them, shattering their brains, severing their legs, among all the worst details imaginable in a Horror movie.
Is the story?
The first film does not try to carry a more in-depth script, showing only two women being chased by the clown and the aftermath caused by the sole survivor of the massacre. Already terrifying 2 he starts giving hints to show who Art the Clown is and his motivations for causing so much carnage.
More contextualized are the pursuits of Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and Jonathan (Elliot Fullam), who relate the brothers’ father, already dead, to the murders caused by art. We then see that the man predicted that only she would be able to stop him, a detail that fuels theories that the father had known the clown, or even was him.
terrifying 2 she also carries all her trashy movie nonsense with the sword Sienna’s father left her, which not only served her to decapitate the clown, but also to resurrect her, as if an entity lived within the object. All these events have left more doubts than clarifications, but they could only be the gateway to a film of artistic origin.
Damien Leone, director of the film, has already revealed it terrifying 3 will be the scariest yet, setting high expectations for more answers and a lot more gore. Perhaps though, it’s not in the next one that we’ll see where the clown comes from, but rather his rebirth once again, continuing the bizarre post-credits scene.
terrifying 2 it can already be seen in cinemas across Brazil; secure your entry entrance.com.
