Rafael Zulu, Fefe and other celebrities also tell their New Year’s secrets
You might as well deny it, but performing a ritual at the turn of the year to attract luck, love, peace and money is irresistible. Skip the ripples? Do you eat lentils? Or wearing colorful lingerie? We spoke to Juliette Freire, Rafael Zulu, Fefe and other celebs about year-end superstitions. Check below:
Juliet, singer
“I always wear beige panties! That’s also good because I usually spend New Year’s Eve in a white dress, so it’s ideal not to mark it. But I think that, beyond superstitions, the most important thing of all is to spend New Year’s in a place where we feel good and are surrounded by the people we love”.
Rafael Zulu, actor and businessman
“It’s already a tradition of mine to spend New Year’s Eve by the sea. Just before the fireworks, I always take time to go alone to the sea to talk to God and my orishas. I thank you for the year and ask protection for myself and my family.”
Fefe, actress and digital influencer
“I never go without white panties. The clothes can also have other colors, but the lingerie must be white. And I always jump the seven waves of the sea as soon as the year turns around. I think it brings good luck.”
Jorge de Sá, actor and businessman
“My wife and I have a tradition. We always create a photographic wall with all the creations we wish for the following year. We leave it in a strategic point of the house and every day we stop in front of it for two minutes to pray and imagine ourselves in those scenarios .”
Carol, by the duo Carol and Vitória
“I like to write letters from the past year and save them to read on New Year’s, to see what’s changed and what’s gone. I like to wear something colorful other than white. These are things I’ve been doing since I was a kid.”
Vitória, by the duo Carol and Vitória
“Since I’ve lived near the beach for a few years, I jump seven waves every New Year’s. I also eat a lot of lentils! It’s a good wish for the coming year.”
Gal Costa’s voice will resound in Copacabana
Gal Costa will be honored during the New Year’s Eve show in Copacabana in two stages. The first is with the group Bala Quero, the revelation of the year who won the Latin Grammy 2022. The second tribute takes place during the fireworks display. Daniel Lopes, music producer and DJ, has prepared a setlist to honor the singer. The turning point of the year is promoted by the Municipality of Rio, through Riotur, under the command of SRCOM.
Quasimodo plays New Year’s Eve at Casa Bossa
