Actor Jeremy Renner, who plays the hero Hawkeye in the Marvel films, is in “critical but stable” condition after suffering a weather mishap that blew away snow in Reno, Nevada.
According to Kristin Vietti, a Washoe County Sheriff’s Office sergeant, police received a traumatic injury call in the Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, around 9 am last Sunday (1).
“Upon arrival, managers coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire District and REMSA Health to arrange for Mr. Jeremy Renner to be visited via an assistance flight to a local hospital,” Vietti said. “Mr. Renner was the only party involved.
“We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with his injuries after suffering a weather accident while shoveling snow today. His family is with him and in great care,” a spokesperson for the actor told The Hollywood Reporter.
Renner became known for playing Clint Barton (Hawkeye) in Marvel movies and starred in his own series of the character for Disney Plus. He currently stars in the Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown”.
The actor has already received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for ‘The Hurt Locker’ in 2010. He was nominated again for Best Supporting Actor at the 2011 Academy Awards for ‘The Town’.
Renner’s home is in Washoe County, this area of northern Nevada received heavy snow at the end of the year caused by a storm. More than 31,000 people were left without electricity on New Year’s Eve.
According to Vietti, the Major Accident Investigation Team is “investigating the circumstances of the accident.”
