Buffalo Bills jock Damar Hamlin collapses on his lawn and has to be removed by ambulance; match is suspended

The world of sport is on alert. Damar Hamlin, American football player, caused concern this Monday during a game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals, in the NFL. The athlete fell unconscious on the field and was transported by ambulance. In a note, the League confirmed that the athlete was intubated and is in critical condition. The match has been suspended.

The move came with just over five minutes left in the first quarter. The defending athlete collided with an opponent, got up normally, but, seconds later, fell back unconscious. The episode caused panic in the stadium. With play stalled, Buffalo Bills players gathered on the field to pray for Hamlin.

The athlete received a respiratory massage and was taken to hospital shortly after. The Cincinnati team won the game 7-3.
