54% of workers report fatigue while 47% report lack of recognition
Since January 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized burnout as an occupational syndrome, defining it as a state of physical and emotional exhaustion that can affect workers in any position or sector.
A number of factors illustrate a scenario of workplace dissatisfaction and fatigue: 40% of professionals are willing to quit their current job, according to the 2022 Wellbeing Report by Better flya corporate benefits platform that integrates wellness, financial protection and social impact.
While 54% of workers report feeling exhausted, 50% say they are overworked. Lack of recognition is also a problem for 47% of professionals.
“It is urgent that organizations think more broadly about wellbeing and create environments that promote employee care. If the company wants to grow and remain in the market, time and effort must be devoted to retaining talent and well-being must be a fundamental pillar in the company strategy,” explains Virgínia Vairo, Betterfly’s Head of People and Culture in Brazil.
But what is well-being for you?
When workers were asked what well-being in the workplace means, 61% say the state is related to being part of a team where there is a good working environment and 60% say they are happy in carrying out their duties. own duties. Already 48% concern the possibility of reconciling personal and professional life.
“The data also shows the need for companies and leaders to have more and more empathy with their teams and promote spaces where the team can be heard and welcomed to improve the points that can influence the perception of the work environment so that their commitment, ownership and involvement can increase,” adds Virginia.
For the survey, Betterfly listened to more than 4,000 workers in countries including Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. The survey was conducted between September 27 and October 6, with men and women aged 18 to 65. Participants had the opportunity to choose more than one alternative in their responses.
