In the petition presented to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) this Sunday 8, the Advocate General of the Union (AGU) requests that the Court immediately determine that media and social network platforms identify and remove content that promotes incitement to acts invasion and looting of federal public buildings nationwide. Also, these platforms need to stop monetizing these profiles.
The request, filed in an inquiry referred to by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, also requests that the Tribunal order telecommunications companies, especially personal mobile service providers, to keep sufficient connection logs for a period of 90 days to define or identify the geolocation of users who are in the vicinity of Praça dos Três Poderes and the headquarters of the Federal District to determine responsibility for the dates of criminal events. “The measures referred to the arrest in flagrante delicto of the interested parties 4 to the removal of contents that promote the incitement to acts of invasion must be accompanied by the determination of the entrustment by the media platforms and social networks of any documentation suitable for identifying the materiality and authorship of the deed unlawful acts committed, for a period of one hundred and eighty days”, he says.
The AGU also requests that the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) be determined to maintain a register, including an electronic one, of all vehicles that entered the Federal District between 5 and 8 January.
