Georgia has grown a lot this season. Yes, Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey), the killer mother with a knack for manipulating and negotiating. That Georgia. Credit where due, she has learned to (marginally) respect her child’s boundaries and give healthy advice to parents. She has even gone to therapy. She though hijacked Ginny’s session the first time she attended and the effects seem to have been rather long lasting.

She makes many A-grade attempts to move on when she finds out about Ginny’s self-harm. Though none of this growth stops him from smoking pot with her daughter’s boyfriend… no wait… ex-boyfriend… no wait… friend? Marcus (Felix Mallard). Or trying to manipulate Cynthia (Sabrina Grdevich) as she struggles with the fatal prognosis of her husband in a vegetative state. Then there is also the murder. We’re talking fresh, new blood on Georgia’s hands as she joins the list of victims of her killing a Wellsbury neighbor.

Yeah, she’s been pretty busy this season trying to keep her secrets from blowing up, no news on that front. Except for the fact that it’s not just a private investigator threatening to expose her this time. Austin’s father, Gil (Aaron Ashmore), is back on the scene and is ready for anything if she doesn’t pay from her fiancé Paul’s wallet.

The disaster plays out very much in the style of Georgia in the season two finale of ‘Ginny and Georgia.’ The girlfriend fails to control her increasing indiscretions and the consequences are quite serious. That being said, Georgia is adept at getting out of the stickiest of situations, surely there is a solution for this… Let’s break down what happened in the final episode.

‘Ginny and Georgia’ season 2: ending explained

Georgia wasn’t exaggerating when she said Gil was a bad guy and this season we find out just how terrible Austin’s dad really is. The extent of Gil’s controlling and abusive mistreatment of Georgia is revealed during flashbacks and has not improved over time. Fresh out of prison, Gil begins threatening to expose Georgia’s criminal past unless she makes up to him in large measure for beating him up. By make up, we mean she’s 100% blackmailing her for a piece of Paul’s family fortune.

Things come to a boil in the penultimate episode when Gil turns violent towards Georgia and Austin (Diesel La Torraca) shoots him in the arm in an attempt to protect his mother. All this pressure triggers Georgia’s fight or flight response and she decides that the Miller clan has overstayed Wellsbury.

Georgia begins to secretly put plans in motion for her and her children to leave town before her wedding the next day, but Ginny knows all the signs and stands up to her mother.

Georgia explains that they must go protect Paul (Scott Porter) from an irrational and unstable Gil and the drama to come, but Ginny calls BS when she tells her mother that she is afraid of feeling undeserved of happiness and afraid of leaving. someone love her

After some cajoling, Georgia confesses to feeling like a fraud, a fake, unpleasant, “not normal” person who has made her way in this life where she doesn’t belong. She admits that she doesn’t want to drag Paul down with her. Ginny encourages him. She encourages Georgia to tell Paul about her closet full of skeletons and confide in him about her past.

Well, not everything, he’s the mayor and she’s not stupid, but Georgia comes clean and is accepted for who she is, which will prove she’s worthy of the life she’s created for them. Her special heart-to-heart talk after school works. Georgia tells Paul about her ugly past, but her rap sheet is long, even without the triple murders.

She reveals to Paul that she framed Gil for embezzlement to get him shot (to be clear, he was already embezzling; she just caught him). She then goes out on a limb and talks about Nick’s ‘boyfriend ‘Jesse’, aka Gabriel (Alex Mallari Jr), the private investigator who was after her involvement in the death of her ex-husband Kenny. She drives home her confession speech by clarifying Gil’s intention to blackmail her once she marries Paul and has access to her family’s money.

“I’ve been a con artist and a criminal all my life,” she admits, and the blow is too big for Paul to take. He leaves to think to himself, but the next day he calls Georgia into the office to talk. Georgia approaches him expecting to be arrested, but Paul introduces him to her lawyer.

Unexpectedly, Gil is next to arrive and what happens is not what Georgia expected. Paul accuses Gil of stalking Georgia and threatens to call his probation officer unless he backs down. Gil is quickly informed that he won’t receive any of the Randolphs’ money (not today, sir) even after they’re married, because yes, those wedding bells do ring loud.

Gil threatens to fight for custody of Austin, but Paul is prepared for this because he’s the mayor and this is his town, remember? Paul tells Gil that this course of action won’t go down well for him, while his lawyer, Perry, looms silently in his corner like a well-trained bloodhound.

It isn’t long before Gil is kicked out and Paul proceeds to give a rousing speech about how he can’t live without Georgia.

The wedding is now underway and the Millers are enjoying themselves, but of course nothing works quite as well, after all, Georgia’s life thrives on chaos. Gabriel had planned to leave Wellsbury and give up on his quest to defeat Georgia until Nick let slip that Georgia was present when Cynthia’s husband Tom died.

This new bit of information has given Gabriel something to work on. Enough to really haunt Georgia. He confesses his true identity to Nick along with the truth about Georgia. Meanwhile, Georgia heads down the aisle and it seems like the third charm is over because she finally gets her dream wedding and she’s beautiful.

During their husband and wife dance, Georgia internally admits that nothing scares her more than being happy, because if you’re happy you have something to lose. Well, Georgia, you should be completely terrified.

Their glitzy moment is spoiled by the arrival of Gabriel, flanked by the police. Georgia was arrested for the murder of Tom Fuller, which is pretty serious (although Paul is adamant in supporting him). This is a shock to Ginny, who thought they had no more murderous mother-daughter secrets, so obviously this can’t be true, right?

When the truth about Tom comes out, a distraught Austin turns to Ginny and tells her that he didn’t tell anyone that he saw his darling mom finish off Tom, inadvertently confirming Georgia’s third murder.

What does Tom’s death mean for Ginny and Georgia’s relationship?

Of all the murders, this one has the potential to devastate Ginny the most. She believed that she was caught up with the Georgia murders. Just the two of them, no big deal or so she had come to accept. However, this latest murder is different. Gabriel had warned Ginny not to keep her mother’s deadly secrets from her and told her that if she continued to do so, she too would be responsible for her next death.

His words of warning stuck with Ginny, who had been having a hard time with Kenny’s death. Georgia labeled Kenny for protecting Ginny from being sexually assaulted as if she were a child and Ginny has carried that guilt with her ever since she found out about it, accelerating her self-harm.

Having finally come to terms with her mother’s distorted idea of ​​protection, she was able to move on after Kenny’s death, but now she probably feels betrayed by Tom’s.

In fairness to Georgia, she was motivated by compassion. She was trying to help Cynthia and her son who, according to Cynthia herself, were struggling with Tom’s slow and seemingly inevitable death. In a drunken moment, Cynthia wished that she would just move on so they could escape the pain of watching him die in this traumatic way.

Unfortunately, Georgia’s merciful intentions are unlikely to save her fragile relationship with Ginny, who is wounded and wracked with guilt. He now feels guilty for Georgia’s actions and in a way that running away from her won’t fix it. Not this time.

Did Ginny and Marcus end up together?
