Marvel has released a new poster and the second trailer for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”.

The preview is packed with news, including the first appearance of the villain MODOK in the MCU (Marvel Cinematographic Universe), and highlights the participation of Cassie Lang, the daughter of Ant-Man. The video presents the film basically as a father-daughter adventure.

This relationship is the great temptation presented by the villain Kang to get the hero to do as he pleases. Since Scott/Ant-Man lost five years of Cassie’s life during Thanos’ snap, he couldn’t follow much of her daughter’s childhood, and one of the scenes hints that Cassie made bad decisions without Cassie’s presence. her father to guide her. . Kang offers him the chance to go back in time and experience those years with his daughter as a child. But if he does what the villain asks, Scott could help him take over the world.

Also directed by Peyton Reed, the film will reunite Paul Rudd (Scott Lang, Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne, Wasp), Michael Douglas (Dr. Hank Pym) and Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet Van Dyne). features the new interpreter of Cassie Lang. Kathryn Newton (star of “Freaky – In the Body of a Killer”) has joined the cast, playing the teenage version of the daughter of Ant-Man.

It never hurts to remember that, in the comics, Cassie inherits her father’s powers and joins the Young Avengers as heroine Stature and later Sting. Kathryn Newton even hinted that this would be the fate of the character and the preview shows her in the uniform of Sting.

Kang the Conqueror is played by Jonathan Majors (“Lovecraft Country”), who was announced in the MCU by one of his variants in the final chapter of “Loki”, positioning him to take Thanos’ place as the MCU’s new big bad Wonder.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” is scheduled for February 16 in Brazil, one day before the US launch.
