Looking for a more modern and uniform experience, Microsoft would be preparing more adjustments in the interface of Win 11 File Explorer
THE Microsoft is working on another Windows 11 File Explorer revamp. Evidence recently discovered in an experimental version of the operating system shows that the company intends to remodel the tool’s home page and folder interface to modernize the overall experience.

The programmer known as FireCube in Twitter managed to get part of this future interface working, despite the preliminary state of the novelty. File Explorer’s home page would bet on practicality, presenting prominently featured “recommended” items and other pertinent information right from the start.
Microsoft has rebuilt the WIP File Explorer home page UI. Includes upcoming “recommended” articles.
Everything is clearly very WIP, hence why Vive id doesn’t work

The code changes also hint that File Explorer will have tighter integration with the company’s Microsoft 365 suite. The program will display file interaction details including ‘Activity’, ‘Discussions’, ‘Sharing Status’ and ‘Insights’ in dedicated panels
more uniform appearance
New developments for File Explorer won’t interfere with what’s already implemented in the app, such as tabbed browsing and a top toolbar with an emphasis on larger icons and buttons. MS’ intention seems to be to standardize the application, creating a more consistent and robust experience.

Information obtained from the Windows Central website adds that the future native app UI will also be more friendly to touch screens, with larger and more widely spaced buttons for easier file management.
No release date
All information about File Explorer’s upcoming visual overhaul, however, is preliminary and may change over time. For now there are no concrete details on the update, nor when it would be released to the general public.
The fact is that the update will arrive first for service testers, so users enrolled in the Windows Insider program will be the first to know about the news.
Despite this, perhaps the new interface will not be implemented only in the next major update of Windows 11, expected for the end of 2023. Now, Microsoft can take advantage of the so-called “Moments” (minor updates) to implement changes of impact, but in a way more segmented.
