The Australian felt his knee and will undergo an arthroscopy
Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios, world No. 21, withdrew from the Australian Open on Monday with a knee injury. The tennis player defended last year’s second round singles and doubles title (with Thanasi Kokkinakis).
Kyrgios was the 19th favorite and would face Russian Roman Safiullin in the first round and be replaced by a lucky loser and had Novak Djokovic for a possible round of 16 in the tournament.
The Australian’s problem was in the meniscus region and he has yet to play this season. He even had a deluxe training session with an entrance fee on Friday.
The tennis player has announced he will undergo arthroscopy in his knee and hopes to play Indian Wells in March.
