Michael Bay sued over pigeon death on 6 Underground footage

Animals are protected by law in Italy; director Michael Bay has denied the allegation

Michael Bayknown for directing films in the franchise Transformers, was prosecuted for the death of a pigeon in Italy. The filmmaker was director and screenwriter of Squad 6 (2019) movie by Netflixand, according to the accusation, a camera on rails would have fatally hit the bird.

According to TheWrap (via Omelet)the death of the pigeon would have happened in 2018, during the filming of the feature film starring Ryan Reynolds, In Rome. The complaint was made by a member of the production, who photographed the dead pigeon.

“I’m known for my animal activism and my love for them,” the director told the site. “No animal involved in the production was hurt or damaged. In no production I’ve worked in the last 30 years,” he added, refuting accusations.

Michael he also revealed that the Italian justice proposed payment of a fine to close the case, but he denied it. For the filmmaker, accepting the deal would result in pleading guilty, which he claims he is not. “We have clear video evidence, numerous witnesses and security professionals who exonerate us of these charges,” he said.
