Faced with the disappearance and possible abduction of their son, Dr. Anna (Magdalena Boczarska) and her husband MichaĆ Barczyk (Leszek Lichota) undertake an investigation by monitoring his cell phone and the places he frequented, but secrets and lies are revealed along the way. . .
Explained end of “Not a word” on Netflix
The six chapters, directed by Michal Gazda and Bartosz Konopka, present a puzzle around the city of Warsaw with crimes, twists and characters that keep many secrets.
At the end of the series, it is revealed that Adam blames a guru for the death of his friend Ivor, while Anna tries to find out the identity of the alleged killer and meets a young adviser named Joanne Makowska, who reveals that Adam and Ivor were going to her for consolation.
In this main plot of the series, it is revealed that those who kidnapped Adam were his close friends Gajos and Blazej, because he threatened to reveal their secrets to the police.
What happened to Adam’s disappearance in “Not a word”?
In a turn of events, it is revealed that Joanne is indeed a guru and that Adam, Ivor, Gajos and Blazej all worked with her in the prescription drug trade. Eventually the police manage to arrest Joanne, when she is going to kill Adam because he wanted the codes to make electronic prescriptions.
Adam makes a false statement to the police, lying about his kidnappers and instead accuses Ivor and Guru of stealing Anna’s cookbook and digital recipe codes.
However, Anna knows that the only way they could have stolen the recipes from a safe was through someone close to her, so she concludes that her son is the real culprit.
Anna justifies this decision to protect him and not reveal anything to the police about her mother’s love, but her morals and ethics are destroyed when she learns that she is hiding a crime.
The 6-episode series is a mystery thriller based on the Harlan Coben novel that became the New York Times Best Seller in 2008. It is available on Netflix.
