Antoine Fuqua will direct and produce a film about the life of Michael Jackson in Bohemian Rhapsody
Michael Jackson should win biographical film soon. The production of the feature film is expected to start in 2023, and some of the team’s names have already been revealed, as pointed out by the newspaper. The Guardian.
The film will be called Michael and will be directed by Antoine Fuqua – filmmaker of The protector (2014), Emancipation (2022), Training Day (2021) and Seven Men and a Destiny (2016). John Loganwho worked in 007: Operation Skyfall (2012), takes over the screenplay.
Michael is authorized by the King of Pop’s estate. the producer of Bohemian Rhapsody, graham kingalso works on the film, alongside john white and John McClain.
“The first projects of my career were music videos. I still feel that combining filmmaking and music is a deep part of who I am. For me, there is no other artist with the power, charisma and genius of Michael Jackson,” stated fuqua in note.
“I was influenced to make music videos by watching his work – the first black artist to be one of the most played in the MTV. His music and image are part of my worldview, and the chance to tell that story on screen alongside these songs was irresistible.”
According to website reports The Hollywood Reporter and the Varietythe feature film must cover most aspects of the life of Michael – including more sensitive subjects – in a “direct way.” There is no scheduled date for the premiere.
