This is Jamie Lee Curtis’ first acting Oscar nomination; actress was recognized for her work in Everything, Everywhere at the Same Time
Throughout the career, Jamie Lee Curtis participated in iconic films and collected memorable performances, but it was at age 64 that he received his first nomination oscar. This Tuesday, the 24th, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the nominees in the 2023 edition – and Curtis was recognized in Best Supporting Actress.
The actress was nominated for the role of Deirdre Beaubeirdre in Everything Everywhere at the Same Timedirected by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. she competes with Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever After), Hong Chau (The Whale), Kerry Condon (Inisherin’s Banshees) and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere at the Same Time).
In an Instagram post, Jamie Lee Curtis thanked for the recognition and explained how she always felt isolated in Hollywood. “[Ser indicada ao Oscar] it was never even in the box of my wildest dreams. I’ve always felt like an outsider looking in and yet always so grateful for any and all opportunities I’ve been given,” she wrote.

It is worth noting how, in the post, the actress posted a photo of her parents, Tony Curtis and Janet Leighgreat personalities hollywood. “Since this is a film about an immigrant family and their struggles through life, I immediately think of my parents, children of immigrants from Hungary and Denmark, whose families came here and sacrificed for their children to fulfill their dreams, ” continued.
“I can only imagine what it would be like for them and their parents to know that their daughter/granddaughter was nominated this morning for the oscar. I’m stunned, thrilled and excited about our little movie,” she finished Curtis.
