Actor Jeremy Renner, who was left in critical condition and broke 30 bones in a serious accident involving his snowplow vehicle, was trying to stop the device from slipping and hitting his adult grandson when the actor was dragged below and crushed by vehicle later on 1 January.
The information comes from a Nevada Sheriff’s Office report on the incident, according to CNN via Variety. After using the plow to pull his nephew’s truck through the snow, Jeremy Renner left “the vehicle without applying the emergency brake” as the heavy machinery began to slide sideways, according to the report, which also points out that the warning light of the brake inside the cabin of the snowmobile failed and “mechanical problems may have been a factor in this accident”.
The report says: “Although the snowthrower had some mechanical problems, it is believed, based on our mechanical inspection, that the parking brake would have prevented [o veĆculo] go beyond. When Renner tried to stop or swerve the snowplow to avoid injuring him (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle across the street and run over.
Jeremy Renner’s nephew allegedly helped the actor avengers until emergency medical workers arrived at the scene and transported him to the hospital.
Renner suffered more than 30 fractures in the snowplow accident that left him hospitalized with blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. Now, the actor is recovering and undergoing physical therapy, and frequently uses social media to keep his fans updated on his health.
Variety confirmed on Jan. 17 that Jeremy Renner had checked out of the hospital and returned home. He more or less announced the news himself when he told fans on social media that he was “very excited” to watch the first season of his Paramount+ series “The Owner of Kingstown” at home.
