Eva Green is accused of sabotaging the film and the case goes to court; ‘humiliating’

Eva Greenhad his WhatsApp messages read in the Superior Court during the lawsuit against the producer White Lantern Film for the cancellation of the film The Patriot, which would be protagonist. As disclosed by Yahoo UK, the actress claimed it was a “humiliating” moment.

According to NME,the project was canceled in October 2019 after failing to secure the necessary funding. The actress now asks for US$ 1 million (a little more than R$ 5 million in the current quotation) for the cancellation. the producer White Lantern Film, on the other hand, claims that Green was responsible for sabotaging the film.

During the trial this Tuesday, 31, Green was asked about the text message in which she said she wanted to leave the film. The actress explained:

“If I really wanted to quit, I would have asked my agent to do it legally. Sometimes you say things you don’t mean. When you say ‘I’m going to kill this person’ are you really going to kill him? Do not. It is a cry from the heart.”

She later denied harming the production, telling the court:

“I didn’t have to do anything for the movie to fail… they made it fail on its own with their incompetence.”

“I didn’t expect my WhatsApp messages to be exposed in court. It’s very humiliating.” She finished.

What happened to The Patriot?

As disclosed by Variey (via NME), The Patriot had a budget of approximately $10 million. However, the budget was decreasing without the actress’ knowledge. Eva Greenwho, in addition to being an actress, was also a producer on the project.

About a year after the announcement, the film was cancelled. The plot would follow a captain of the border guard, played by Greenwho would have a job responsible for maintaining the order of humanity in a futuristic world.
